Services

Before you begin your journey together, we will meet with you for a complimentary consultation. We will explain our services to you and answer any questions you or your partner may have. You can share with us what you would like to achieve for your birth and how we can best support you.

Our package includes 2-3 pre-natal visits that are approximately 2 hours long. We will come to your home for these visits at a time that suits you best. We really encourage partners to be there for one or both of these visits so that we can get to know each other before the birth. We will discuss your previous birth experiences and your feelings surrounding these experiences. We will talk about your hopes for your upcoming birth in detail and do a range of activities to help you prepare emotionally. Together we will come up with a list of birth preferences to ensure that all staff and care providers are 100% informed of your wishes on the day. We also offer breastfeeding preparation and information in these visits.

We will be on call for your birth from 2 weeks before until 2 weeks after your estimated ‘due date’. Once your labour is established, we can come to your home to support you there until you are ready to travel to your hospital or birth centre. We will assist you with position changes for an active birth and use techniques including massage, aromatherapy, relaxation and visualization to help keep you calm and relaxed both at home and at hospital. After the birth, we will assist with establishing breastfeeding and will make sure you are comfortable and ready for your first night with baby.

Your doula will come to you for a post-natal visit after you have welcomed your new baby into the world. We will offer help and support with feeding and can reflect on your birth experience with you. We will provide you with helpful information and resources as you begin your new journey as parents. We can also provide referrals to other professionals if needed.

We are committed to making sure that partners never feel excluded or out of their depth during the birthing process. We believe that the role of a doula is to support both parents as a team in all aspects of the pregnancy and birth. This includes giving partners helpful information and helping to ensure that they are comfortable throughout the whole experience. All partners have different desires for their role during the birthing process and this is why our goal is to help every partner feel confident and ready as they begin this wonderful journey alongside you.

Our package also includes phone and email support for any questions you may have, big or small, throughout your pregnancy and for the first 2 weeks after your birth.
